At Slave Lake Dental, we believe in keeping your teeth for life. This requires knowing how to clean your teeth starting at a very young age and developing good habits.

Children’s Dentistry (Pediatric Dentistry) in KID Crew

One of the most common questions we get from parents is:
When should I start bringing my child to the Dentist?

Please ask about our KID Crew preventative program. Kids are enrolled and we work one on one with the child and the parents to develop healthy teeth habits. Our team is fantastic with children and this allows them to develop a positive association with going to the Dentist! If you are interested in learning more about our KID Crew, click here.

We do our best to make your visits convenient for you by trying to book in everyone in the family near the same time slot to reduce the time sitting and waiting around, time off work for the parents and away from school for the kids. When you call to make your next appointment ask about availability for the whole family!

Dentistry For Teens

IMG_20022014_162426We understand that going through all of the changes that happen through your teen years can be complex enough without having to deal with crooked or misaligned teeth. For us, it’s not just about “looks”, it’s about encouraging confidence and giving your kids the smile they deserve.

When parents look into traditional wire braces, they don’t feel as though their teenager will have the commitment and attention to detail required to not only keep their teeth clean but also to restrict their diet. This can sometimes result in avoiding straightening teeth until they are older however, Slave Lake Dental may have an alternative solution for you. We offer Invisalign for patients who require straightening of the teeth because we feel it’s easier for everyone involved!

From conversational distance, you can’t see the plastic aligners that are straightening their teeth so they don’t have to feel self-conscious like they might of they had wire braces. Also, they won’t have to restrict their diet as they can remove the aligners before they eat, clean their teeth and put them back on.

If you’d like to hear Dr. Pukanich talking more about Invisalign you can visit our Invisalign page here.

Dentistry For Aging Adults

As we age, the wear and tear on our teeth becomes more visible. Issues like teeth discoloration, gum recession, and sometimes even tooth loss depending on the level of oral health that’s maintained, become more evident. Some people fear it’s too late to regain their smile back however, a consultation with one of our Dentists may provide you with other options.

If you’d like a detailed review of your oral health, including a complimentary, comprehensive oral cancer screening, please give us a call to book your appointment sooner rather than later so you can get some answers to your questions. We have had many positive case studies with client’s aged 55+ who were able to maintain their natural teeth.

With the average age of humans continuing to increase, the earlier we can get healthy habits in place and provide the treatment needed, the longer you will likely be able to enjoy your natural teeth!

Again, if you’d like to book the whole family in for a visit to the Dentist, please give us a call today (780)849-2234.
