What Is A Root Canal Treatment?

Typically root canal treatment is performed due to result of an infected, injured or dead “pulp” from your tooth. The space within the hard layers of each tooth is called the root canal system. It’s filled with soft dental “pulp” which has nerves and blood vessels to supply your tooth with the nutrients it needs to be healthy.

When germs enter the tooth through deep cavities, cracked or flawed fillings, your tooth forms what’s called an abscess. This is an infection within the tooth’s “pulp” and needs to be removed – this infection can cause pain and/or swelling. If left for too long it can lead to serious oral health conditions.
