CARE INSTRUCTIONS FOR PARTIAL OR COMPLETE DENTURES

We’ve prepared instructions for the after care of your partial or complete dentures. If you are ever unsure of what to do, please call our office at 780-849-2233.

You have just received your partial or complete dentures, here are a few things you should know:

Care to Ensure Success

  • It is normal to experience some discomfort, sore spots and speech problems while getting used to your new denture. Your denture will need a few adjustments until you are comfortable with the fit.

  • Soak your denture once a week in a denture cleaner (e.g. Polident) to keep them clean. Also brush the roof of your mouth as well as your gums and tongue daily. This will help to keep your mouth healthy.

  • You should leave your dentures out for at least six hours to allow your gums to rest each night. Food particles trapped under your denture may cause inflammation and sore spots.

  • To help with speech, read aloud for a few minutes every day. Your mouth will adjust and your speech will improve.

If you have any questions, concerns or are unsure of what to do,
